Day One. Printmaking with Silk Tissue.

I started my journey reconnecting with printmaking at Zea Mays Printmaking, in Florence, MA, where I’ve taken several classes. The latest class involved working with wheat paste in various forms and using it to create prints with the chine colle process. I was excited to learn about pre-pasting papers to use at a later date.

Zea Mays offers a communal space where members can sign up for time to use their facilities and this week I am spending time there to practice what I learned in the chine colle workshop.

Day one involved cutting silk tissues I had printed previously and pre-pasting them. I was able to try out my silk tissues on a couple on of prints I made awhile back. Tomorrow we will view the results.
